RECORD YEAR FOR
SAPIENT FINANCIAL GROUP

Local financial services firm achieves record annual sales and recruitment growth in 2008

San Antonio, TX. January 21, 2009 – Sapient Financial Group announced today that it has achieved a 13.8% growth in annual sales of its core products over the previous year. The company sold a record $44.8 million in annuities, life, disability income and long term care insurance products in 2008, compared to $39.4 million in 2007. In the same period, the company grew their net professional staff by 15.9%, increasing the number of financial professionals to 51 from 44 in 2007.

Sapient Financial Group offers a full range of retirement, investment and insurance services to clients, but it is the dramatic growth in sales of MassMutual whole life insurance products that have generated the best annual sales results in the company’s 56 year history.

“The cash value guarantees of MassMutual whole life insurance along with many other advantages have made it more attractive to more clients than ever before,” said Frank Woodruff, CEO of Sapient Financial Group. “Whole life insurance is fast becoming the choice of informed clients who understand how it can play a significant role in a retirement plan and provide an important pillar of strength and stability to their overall financial strategy.“

Despite the grim economic outlook, the surge in baby boomers reaching retirement together with the increase in the number of self-directed retirement plans means that the company is predicting continued growth in 2009. The number of net professional staff within the firm is forecast to grow by a further 18% in the next 12 months.

“The market may have changed, but people’s financial goals and needs have not,” said Frank Woodruff, CEO of Sapient Financial Group. “In these turbulent times, traditional low risk products such as fixed and variable annuities are more appealing. These products are better than ever, but they’re increasing in complexity, so we’re seeing an even greater number of people seeking the counsel of a competent, trustworthy advisor to help them make good decisions.”
