SAPIENT FINANCIAL GROUP BLAZING
A TRAIL IN FINANCIAL SERVICE INDUSTRY
Fifty-Five Year Old Local Financial Service Firm on the Front-End of the Trend to Increase Financial Service Career Opportunities for Women
San Antonio, TX. March 26, 2008 – In keeping with the city’s first ever evenly gender-balanced city council, Frank Woodruff, Jr. General Agent of Sapient Financial Group, who currently enjoys a higher-than- industry-average number of women in his firm, takes innovative steps to reach gender equilibrium in his financial services organization.
“We estimate the industry is currently made up of only about 15% women. While women make up 23% of our firm, we are gaining on our goal to mirror the city council’s 50 percent male-female balance by engaging the entire community in our effort, ” explained Woodruff.
By recruiting and retaining more women financial services representatives for his firm, Woodruff aligns his organization according to several current geographic and demographic trends. “Women are increasingly becoming the key financial decision-makers in households around the U.S.,” said Woodruff. “Ninety percent of women will be solely responsible for their finances at some point in their lives. In addition, women are the primary breadwinners in nearly one-third of married households, earn 60% of the Bachelor’s Degrees, and start new businesses at twice the rate of men. We believe that if we can attract more women to the financial services field, we can better serve the community,” he added.*
While community representatives unify to help Sapient Financial Group achieve its goals, the firm gives back through active involvement and support in numerous causes including the Austin Danskin Triathlon, Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Purchase Power Event – Money Matters for Women, Susan G. Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure, Family Service Association – Light the Night Ball, Blue Bonnet Youth Ranch, Juvenile Diabetes Association, San Antonio Women’s & Children’s Shelter, Exceptional Parent Disability Awareness Night and Sam’s Shelter.
