THE LADY IS A CHAMP

San Antonio, TX. June 29, 2009 – Sapient Financial Group has become the first firm to have a woman financial professional receive the MassMutual “Freshman Five” award two years running. Pam Green*, CLU, ChFC, FLMI, ACS, recently received the honor in recognition for her 2008 performance, following Diana Scheel* CLU, ChFC, FLMI, FLHC the previous year.

The award is bestowed annually on the top five, of over five hundred financial professionals who have completed their first year with MassMutual in recognition of their business results and example as role models. Only 18 of 258 winners have been women since the honor was initiated in 1957.

“The financial services industry has been a man's world for too long. 80% of advisors in the US are men(1), leaving women in our community woefully under-served, said Sapient Financial Group CEO, Frank Woodruff. “In 2007 we embarked on a mission to recruit more women and tailored our support and training to their needs. By attracting more women into financial services, we can improve our service to the community.”

“This double accolade is no fluke,” said Tom Jurkowski, MassMutual's Agency Vice President. “Sapient Financial Group's boldness in this area is paying off. Women are the primary breadwinners in nearly one-third of married households, and start new businesses at twice the rate of men(2) – so fulfilling their needs is a smart strategy.”
