CENTS AND SENSIBILITY

Local financial professional receives second national industry award of 2009 as she continues to help San Antonio women make good financial decisions

San Antonio, TX. October 23, 2009 – Pamela Green, CLU, ChFC, FLMI, ACS, a financial advisor with Sapient Financial Group, received the Woman in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS) 2009 Rookie of the Year Award at a banquet in San Antonio last night. The national award recognizes women with less than three years industry experience, and is awarded to the candidate with the leading business results for the year. This is the second national financial services award Mrs. Green has received in 2009.

The awards ceremony took place at the WIFS national conference held this year at the San Antonio River Walk Marriott. The event was attended by over 300 women from around the US, and included presentations from Economics Editor for The Economist, Zanny Minton-Beddoes and Sally Ride, PhD, former NASA astronaut and America’s first woman in space.

“There is no such thing as the perfect financial strategy or product,” said Mrs. Green. “My approach is to educate the women I work with on the various options so they have the knowledge and understanding to make decisions they feel good about. Being honored for that in my home town and in front of several hundred of my peers from all over the US was incredibly humbling.”

“Last year when Diana Scheel¹ won this award, I said this would be the start of things to come – and I was right,” said Frank Woodruff, Sapient Financial Group’s CEO. “I believe this is the first time that two women from the same firm have won this award back to back. It pleases me that we at Sapient Financial Group are honoring our commitment to serve women in this community and to provide an environment where dedicated financial professionals can excel.”

Sapient Financial Group was recently named the special-award winner for career opportunities in the San Antonio Express News 2009 Top Workplace report. The firm also ranked #2 in the small company List of 2009 Top Workplaces.

Earlier this year, Mrs. Green won the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) national “Freshman Five 2008” award which is bestowed on the top five, of over five hundred, MassMutual financial professionals who completed their first year with the company in 2008.
